The Clinch Mountain Century and
its sister ride, the 6
Mountain Metric, are cycling fundraisers through the valleys and
mountains of Tazewell County, Virginia to support the
construction of the Four Seasons YMCA. The Metric ride is
held each Spring and for the last few years the Century during the Fall
season but that event is no longer being held. The 6 Mountain Metric
starts from
Tazewell
Community Hospital in Tazewell, Virginia and includes 60 miles
(approximately 100 Kilometers) of riding from Tazewell to Marion, VA and
back with 7,500 feet in elevation gain. Held at the same time for casual
riders is a "30 mile fun ride" through Liberty, the Cove, Thompson
Valley, down Plum Creek and back to Tazewell. The fun ride also begins at the
hospital and both of them include breathtaking views of the Town of
Tazewell, Frog Level area, Thompson Valley and more!
